Raising our consciousness with the Munay Ki.

Raising our consciousness with the Munay Ki.

butterfliesI’m going to introduce these beautiful rites here so that you can see their infinite potential. Each person I give these rites to, takes a new path in some way in their lives and allow this to unfold in their consciousness with beauty and grace. We never know how these seeds of light will manifest and that’s the beauty of this work. I hope I have inspired you to find out more about this path of transformation.

In order to discover who we are as well as where we are, self discipline is essential, because without it we cannot progress.

THE RITES

Foundation Rites

daisy         The Healers Rite: Launches our healing journey and activates your healing power. Connects you to a lineage of Earthkeepers from the past that come to assist you in your personal healing. We have tremendous spiritual assistance available to us if we ask. These luminous beings work on us during our meditation and sleep time to heal the wounds of our past and of our ancestors.

The Bands of Power: Protections, these consist of five energetic bands representing earth, fire , water and pure light. These bands are installed in your luminous energy field and act as filters, breaking down into one of the five elements any heavy energy that comes your way – so that these energies can feed you instead of weighing you down or making you ill. They replace any psychological or emotional protection you may have had to put into place during your lifetime or in previous lifetimes.

The Harmony Rites: Connect you to the organising principles of the universe, which are 7 archetypes from each tradition. There’s 1 for each chakra: serpent, jaguar, humming bird, eagle and then 3 “archangels” go into the upper chakras.

tree of life

The World Tree is a way of Journeying down to the underworld, where Huascar is the guardian. He helps us to see what’s hidden.

There’s Huascar Inca – keeper of the lower world and the unconscious who goes into the throat; Quetzacotl – the feathered serpent, god of the Americas and keeper of the middle world (our waking world) goes into our brow and Pachakuti – protector of the upper world (and super consciousness), keeper of time – goes into our crown. These archetypes are transmitted as seeds and germinate with fire. You have to perform a number of fire meditations to help them to grow. Afterwards, they help to combust the psychic sludge that has built up in your chakras – so that they can shine with their original light as you acquire a rainbow body.

The Seers Rites: Awakens the Seer within; re-wires perceptual centres. This installs filaments of light extending from your visual cortex in the back of your head to your third eye and heart chakras. It awakens your perception of the invisible worlds. It really helped me to perceive the world of energy around me more clearly.

The Daykeepers herald the sunrise and the sunset.

The Lineage Rites

Daykeepers Rite: This brings healing and beauty from the ancient stone altars from around the world. Helping you to call on the power of these ancient places to heal and bring balance to the world. This connects you to a lineage of earth keepers from the past. They were generally women and knowledgable about the ways of the feminine earth, herbalism and midwifery. They bring about the healing of your inner feminine, helping you to step beyond fear and practice peace.

The Wisdom keepers Rite: This rite teaches us to bring wisdom and joy. It eliminates suffering. The job of the wisdom keeper is to protect the medicine teachings and share them with others when appropriate. This rite helps you to step outside of time and to taste infinity.

The Earthkeepers Rite: This rite connects you to a lineage of archangels that are guardians of our galaxy. They’re reputed to have human form and be as tall as trees. They hold stewardship of entire earth and help us to become peace. They are called upon to bring balance and healing to any situation. The rite of the earth keeper helps you to learn the ways of the Seer and dream the world into being.

.     Rites of the Time to Come.

    • The Starkeeper rites : This Rite downloads the final codes for the new human into the luminous energy field. It anchors you in the future NOW. According to lore, your physical body begins to evolve into that of Homo Luminous. The ageing process is slowed down and illnesses are processed more at an energetic level. The Starkeepers Rite attunes us to a high frequency of star energy, so that we can communicate with the stars at a very deep level.
    • In essence – these rites haven’t changed for thousands of years.

Let your path of beauty unfold like the sunrise!.

The path of the Munay Ki is simply beautiful, they work at the level of spirit and of the soul. They speak to us through our hearts with story, imagery and myth. I feel that this magic and divine love is something we as a society deeply crave.

These rites can teach us so much about the power of divine love, connecting us with a lineage  of ancestors, angels and star beings from the future to guide us and help us on our path. These can show us how to live in harmony with others and with nature. They can help us to prepare for the time to come and to remember why we came here to planet earth at this time.

The Inca have said that the rites are not really for us individually, they’re for others and to be shared. In Alberto’s experience (my teacher), they don’t blossom until they have been given away with great Munay, with love in service. It is known that the shaman sees with the eyes of the heart. The Q’ero Earthkeepers in Peru are optimistic  and say that this is a time of tremendous opportunity, but that there will be a fall in the numbers of the human population. This is why it’s so important to hold a healthy vision of the planet – where we can step into our highest destinies and live sustainably on the earth.

The rites are a  great way of bringing more love into your life and your life into balance . It’s wonderful to be living at such a marvelous poignant point in the history of the world. Lots of things are coming to their natural end and it’s important to have love, creativity, dance, music and ceremony to mark this time of transition that we’re in!. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for!

“ I believe that this is the moment when the human species can rise to it’s full potential. We have now created for ourselves the greatest challenge we have ever faced. And that means that we have the opportunity to live the most meaningful lives that have ever been lived” David Ulansey.

The 9 Rites of the Munay-Ki

world-earth-planet-globe-45208

Become Earthkeepers for Gaia or Mother Earth.

The 9 Rites of the Munay-Ki transform and upgrade your luminous energy field. They are energetic transmissions that can heal the wounds of the past-your karmic & genetic inheritance.
They re-inform your DNA, enabling you to grow a new body-one that ages, heals, and dies differently. The Munay-Ki is your invitation to dream an entire new world into being. It is the beginning of the Hero’s Journey.

These 9 rites can be passed on and exchanged without any formal training. They create a shift in frequency in your energy field, cleansing your charkas and activating your rainbow light body, so that you become HOMO LUMINOUS Living, Ageing and Dying Differently.

The Munay Ki are the teachings of love, pure undiluted love from the source. When we come from a place of humility, we connect with the energy of compassion, which allows us to experience the power of love. When we practice acceptance and live what we feel, we are drawn towards reverence, an active respect for everyone and everything we encounter in life.

Each of us comes into the world with a light body that’s connected to our genetic, karmic and ancestral heritage. It is also our soul’s light that nourishes , strengthens and sustains us as we live and our lives unfold. Sometimes as we grow in experience and wisdom things happen. The Q’ero believe that there is only sami (light energy) or hucha (heavy energy). The Munay Ki can clear your luminous energy field of the psychic sludge left by past traumas.

Earth lighting up

Our consciousness as a human race is expanding each day, connecting our hearts and minds.

Why are the Munay-Ki so important?

  • They activate the LEF and its power to manifest and create. They teach us how to act with ‘right thought, right heart, right action’
  • They transform our lives from scarcity to grace.
  • They help us to restore our natural divine radiance, living with humility, reverence for the earth and knowing ourselves with self discipline. We cannot walk a sacred path without discipline, this is where so many teachers and spiritual seekers have stumbled.

How can these seeds of light help us?

The plaeides cluster

The Plaeides constellation, seeds of light and starkeepers to guide and inspire us.

The Munay Ki are planted like seeds in a garden. Praying to the four directions, the breath and fire ceremonies grow these seeds. These seeds are fed by opening sacred space, performing fire ceremony and with the breath. To walk this path of fire, one must have strongly developed ethics and one must have a well developed heart. We can use the fire ceremony to feed our hearts and release what’s no longer needed in our lives. They help us  acquire great power in our hearts by helping us develop strong ethics.

  • We can become connected to the day keepers rite, the ones who tended the ancient temples.
  • We  can become connected to the starkeepers rite and all the archangels. We walk in beauty in protection and grace. We can become our own storytellers and myth makers
  • We dream a vision of a beautiful healed world for our future generations.

I will continue in detail about each rite in another post.

May you fly with beauty.

A new path can unfold when we receive the Munay Ki Rites

A new path can unfold when we receive the Munay Ki Rites.

The Munay Ki

I was given the Munay Ki rites and trained to pass them on by Pauline Black in 2008, who participated in the first Munay-Ki course with The Four Winds Society in London.

These rites are very powerful and, for many recipients, transformational tools for developing a deep awareness of some aspects of Andean as well as more universal spiritual practices. Together with other Munay Ki practitioners, I agree that these rites are a good foundation for and introduction to a much deeper set of practices, many of which come from the peoples of Q’eros and have been since taught to me in their pure form.

The Munay Ki Rites remind us of our macro and micro connection to the universe.

The Munay Ki Rites remind us of our macro and micro connection to the universe.

A Portal

For myself, the rites have deepened my connection with the core shamanic principles and energetic techniques, which were taught to me by Juan Nunez Del Prado and Alberto Villoldo, as well as opening up a new gateway. This gateway, once stepped through honours the sacred and simple reverence of nature and has helped me to bring into balance my physical, emotional and spiritual being into ‘right thought, right heart, right action’.

They have helped me to create a safe space to work with ceremony, to develop my healing and psychic abilities. They have given me a sacred connection to the power places, the stars, the mountains and the luminous beings, who help me everyday in my work.

Dreaming Our World into Being for our Children’s Children.

I’m very grateful to the Four Winds Society for helping the Western world access such poignant spiritual and energetic awareness, at a time when we so severely need it. I heard today that Shamans in the Amazon consider the western world as having ‘severed their connection’ with spirit. Receiving the Munay Ki is a wonderful way of re-connecting to, sourcing from our spiritual strength and dreaming our world into being for our highest good and for our children’s children.

Star lakeOnce I was given the Munay Ki rites, I was in a good place to go much deeper into a beautiful set of sacred practices still alive today in the High Andes. As I teach the Munay Ki and pass on the rites to others, I make it clear that they also contain the essence of several traditions. These, when taken as a whole can also provide us with a beautiful, meaningful and helpful introduction to the world of living energy healing.

Sacred Play

A core aspect of Andean mysticism is something called “puqllay” which means sacred play. When you see the Q’ero medicine men and women, they take their ceremonies and shamanic work very seriously but they also take time out to play football !. So, in the spirit of “Puqllay’ I invite you to receive, give and share these rites with others and enjoy yourselves along the way.

Having fun is so important in our fast paced world.

I particularly love the starkeepers rite and the seers rite but you will have your own favourites.

Testimonials

The Munay Ki rites have been an amazing journey. I felt my impulse to have the rites grow until I was guided towards Ali in her beautiful sanctuary. Slowly, a wonderful new dimension for my life has opened up. We carried out some of the rites in sacred places and in nature, were we could feel all the energy of the elements supporting us. We connected strongly with the ancestral luminous beings who always guided us . During this time, I felt such a sense of reciprocity and balance. I’m very grateful to Mother Earth, the Spirit World, our past and future generations and the archetypes for having shared their wisdom. They’ve put such a generous full of light being called Ali on my path. In love and light, A. Martha , Naturopath, Hartford, July 2014 UK.

Something is very different that I don’t really have the words for since receiving the rites. I feel a quietness, calm and joy is flowing into my life when wandering each day out in the countryside. Thank you once again for a very enlightening experience with the Munay Ki rites, it was very much the right time and in your wonderful sessions and delivery the right person for me, with gratitude to you.

A Beltain Ceremony

For me, all of life is bursting with fertility and the power of it’s own potential at this time of year. I was very much guided to connect with our hearts at this time and our own feminine/masculine archetypes within us. We had a beautiful ceremony at my friend Sharifin’s house. First, we opened scared space. Then we shared poems and sayings connected with blossom and spring. We made garlands for our heads with blossom and willow.

Male and Female Archetypes

Imagine that you have a King and a Queen archetype in your heart space, what would they say to you?. What would they say to each other?. This is a good time to re-evaluate your relationship with yourself, your friends and family. Sacred water from a local well was available for people to bless themselves where needed.

Labyrinth Walk

Fire labyrinth

Fire labyrinth

We went outside into the garden, where luckily the weather was kind to us. A spiral had been laid with felted rope in the grass and little tealights to light the way. In the centre of the spiral was a young maple tree, with it’s variegated leaves just emerging. We took it in turns to drum and rattle each person into the centre of the spiral and out again. Some people walked slowly, some danced and ran!. Each person took his or her own journey. Some had a question for the journey, some held an intention for themselves.

Fire Goddess

Fire Goddess

Fire Goddess

Then, the sun was setting and a sacred fire was lit at the bottom of the garden using the Q’ero tradition. We released what was no longer serving us and welcomed in a light quality in it’s place for the fertility of our future plans and projects. Once we had all worked with the fire and connected with the fire being in the centre, everyone voiced a need to jump over the fire!. The energy was high and bursting with potential at this point. after a time, we all came back together in a circle around the fire holding hands.

At this point, we made a heart meditation and sent healing energy wherever it was needed in the world.

Community Heart

After closing sacred space when the embers had died down, we shared a wonderful array of food together. This kind of event keeps me going for a long time and is a wonderful way of planning the next six weeks for the heart, head and hands.

The earth festivals are a gentle rhythm connected to nature and it’s seasons. They are an organising principle for us humans to set our intentions and let go of what no longer serves us. Why don’t you have a go at creating one yourselves?. I recommend Glennie Kindred’s books wholeheartedly.

Breathing and Walking ..

Blossom in my garden, which is in the South Downs National Park

Blossom in my garden, which is in the South Downs National Park.

With such beautiful weather recently, it was time to dust off the walking boots and venture out into the wilds of Sussex for a medicine walk!.

I’m very lucky to be living near the South Downs Way and in the South Downs National Park. What better way to spend part of my weekend than to honour my local ley lines, dragon lines or energy lines, across the spine of the downs from Devil’s Dyke to Lewes.

I took with me corn and tobacco as offerings for the ancestors and the land spirits or elementals who may need sustenance along the way.

My Intention

My intention for this walk was to find a clear way through a complicated situation I had been drawn into. Walking is great because it’s healthy and it’s free. It gives me such a sense of freedom and happiness when I can see for miles all around me.

Gorse on the South Downs

Gorse on the South Downs

Walking takes me back to being a child, hearing the larks in the summer meadows and smelling the gorse in Purbeck, Dorset. A friend says that when gorse isn’t in bloom, kissing goes out of season, meaning of course that gorse is always flowering – but it’s particularly gorgeous at this time of year. When I looked up the shamanic meaning of gorse, it said ‘enduring affection’. I loved seeing the bumble bees gathering the nectar from the gorse flowers. That was beautiful to witness and bee energy reminded me very much about the importance of community living. The bee also reminds me of hummingbird medicine, sipping the nectar of life in the sun, a liquid sugar mellowed by sunshine.

Beautiful Moments..

Dew Pond near Ditchling Beacon

Dew Pond near Ditchling Beacon

One of my favourite times was walking through a field of rape. This is a cultivated plant related to the brassica family, so it has quite a strong smell and a beautiful bright yellow colour that would cheer up anyone needing a boost of positive energy. Another special time was seeing the light reflected on the sparking water of the dew pond. There was just so much light out there on the surface !

Philip Carr Gomm inspired me to walk the land in Sussex with his book ‘The Druid Way’ .

As I walk the land where I live, I’m brought back into right relationship with the earth. I find it incredibly grounding and it helps me to be present. I got a sense of the thousands of people through the ages who walked on these paths before me. Different historical filters moved swiftly infront of my mind’s eye as I walked along the beaten chalk paths.

Another beautiful moment was when I walked back through Lewes and stumbled across a beautiful apothecary called A.S Apothecary with natural, local beauty products. I got to try out some of their skin serum on my sunburn. If you get a chance, you must go !

A medicine walk should really be walked alone, as then you’re not distracted by walking and talking. Then you notice the shapes of the clouds and the auditory , kinaesthetic, visual, instinctual messages you may receive from spirit. However, for me walking is also about celebrating relationship and friendship with another.

I’m doing another medicine walk this next weekend – I hope I’ve inspired you to try it!.

A Shamanic Space Clearing Ceremony

A Shamanic Space Clearing – Further Explorations.

My faood anenomes- like fallen stars on the ground.

Wood anenomes- like fallen stars on the ground.

Recently, a lovely lady rang about a local school that needed some shamanic space clearing. This was a larger space than the little well, 13 acres and when I looked at the satellite map, I could see that there were old sewage works and lots of forest!.

When I visited the site with an enthusiastic Mum of three boys who went to this school, I found out that there was a little bit of strained relations with the neighbours, as well as a slow dwindling of energy amongst the school community.

The History of the Land.

It was so interesting historically, built in 1901 – there was an old manor house with land that had been split up after the Second World War, with one of the largest walled gardens in the UK. There were wood anemones everywhere, it was a still and sunny day and perfect for what we were planning to do.

As we walked around the land’s perimeters, I felt nauseous when we reached the old sewage works. This was confirmed as stale energy by my pendulum. We opened sacred space near the most beautiful old bay tree in the centre of the woods and the wind caressed our faces, as if to say ‘thank you’ and ‘change’. I called to the land spirits and the ancestors for their support and guidance, then we made a plan together for the following day.

The Space Clearing Plan

This land had three major spots to clear: the old sewage plant, a portal in the north part of the land and a derelict building/caravan. The sewage plant in particular was affecting the ley lines that fed the school with positive energy. Ley lines are like veins of living energy that run through the earths crust. If they are blocked, then they stop the flow of good energy like abundance and helpful friends coming into our lives.

We created a water altar that included creative works by the children.

We created a water altar that included creative works by the children.

The next afternoon, we gave offerings of cornmeal, tobacco and chocolate along the land’s boundaries and to the four directions. We set up an altar dedicated to the element of water on a wooden chair made by the woodwork tutor in the forest. This would hold the energy work we were doing.

My new friend made several little altars for the elementals around the woodland, while I went with my husband and we drummed near the sewage plant. After smudging the area and ourselves, I was taken down to the root of the hucha, or stale energy and shown what needed to be cleared. I used my vogel chrystal to clear the heaviness, like a wand.

When the energy had been brought into balance I connected this spot with the Christ consciousness grid and the star beings. This allowed a very high vibration of energy to replace the heaviness that was there before.

A fire ceremony near the new 'Elder's Circle'

A fire ceremony near the new ‘Elder’s Circle’.

We went to the derelict house and eventually the portal later that afternoon to clear the heaviness and journey to the roots. With the portal, I didn’t need to seal it – just asked guardians of the light to guard it at all times. They would then only allow beings through for the highest good of all concerned. At each point of clearing you could really sense a  shift in the energy and the whole place seemed totally different when we had finished. It was good to have the three of us there, we were all exhausted by the end of the day!. We also felt a lot of support from the ancestors and the land spirits, who had been waiting a long time for us to arrive.

Me with my vogel chrystal, clearing heavy energy by the sewage plant.

I was grateful to my client for having the strength and vision to ask for healing on the land, explaining all of this to the two main teachers, who turned out to be the most open and lovely people you could hope to meet.

It felt like a blessing to be asked to help out here. I’m hoping to do a despacho ceremony soon, to help the school community dream their world into being.

Feedback from The Staff !

A teacher in the school wrote recently…
Thank you so much Ali for the work you do. I have found myself being drawn into the woods more in the past couple of weeks, and it just feels right.
I was unexpectedly touched by the experience of the healing, and as the bluebells emerge, as the crops in the walled garden start to come to harvest, as the pool starts to show signs of coming to life, and the walk through the woods feels lighter and happier, I find it easy to believe in the power of this work. The universe affects us in ways that go much deeper than the surface of mind, and reach much farther than its operation in thought, and I am grateful for the time and love you bring to this work.

A Space Clearing Water Ceremony

A Space Clearing Water Ceremony

New Moon Blessings.

shell mandala 2 by jlecrowe

Shell Mandala 2 by J.L.E Crowe

This powerful new moon is a time of new beginnings and pathways. As Alberto Villoldo said when I was training… it’s important that we clear up our own river!.

In my last post I talked about  different ways of honouring water, as well as working energetically with it.

This time I would like to discuss space clearing and how to dedicate an altar that’s dedicated to water.

Recently I was invited to visit a nearby blocked well. Many years ago, outbreaks of cholera caused the wells in our village to be closed over. My friend Aoife, a sound healer – had lived in the village previously and had received a message from spirit about a trapped soul  at the bottom of a well. She hadn’t yet followed this up but a synchronistic incident led me, Aoife and another friend together last weekend. Aoife found out that the well she had been told about was at the front of this friend’s house!.

So, last night we went round to the house and made offerings of cornmeal and tobacco to the four corners of the land. We called in sacred space. Aoife had brought drums, a clearing bell and her beautiful voice.

Sound is very important, the sound waves help to keep the vibration raised enough to free the trapped or imbalanced energies. Rhythmical drumming or rattling also helps me to hold space and to step in between the worlds. Here, we are stepping outside of time.

Releasing a Trapped Spirit from The Well

Sacred Well

Sacred Well

We created an altar at the front of the house by the well. We lit two nightlights and blessed the well with spring water, smudging the whole area and ourselves with white sage. On the altar was a Q’ero symbol of yinantin, a supreme balance of masculine and feminine harmony, which was a red and white carnation.

Together, we tuned into the land and sensed that this trapped soul needed much love enveloped around it. He was so scared, he hadn’t necessarily fallen into the well but had become confused about where to find the light home. This could have been after a death due to illness at the time.

There he was in my mind’s eye as Aoife drummed and sang a gentle lullaby. I tuned into the land spirits and the water spirits, asking what they needed. They asked for a small chrystal. I opened my mesa and immediately knew which one had to go to the water in the well.

It took a long time for me to wiggle the brick in the ‘eye’ of the well free from the concrete block on top of it. Then, I could see the rounded brick walls leading vertically to the well bottom.

In gratitude, I threw down the chrystal and poured in some florida water. As Aoife held space, we called on this boy’s parents to help escort him to the light. We had the support of the land spirits, the water spirits and the ancestors to do this work.

This little boy spirit was ready to go and appreciated our efforts to coax him up to the light. I used my Vogel Chrystal to help him go and performed a small fire ceremony later to release him to the stars.

We were both happy that the process had been easy and closed sacred space.

Tips for Space Clearing.

macro-seashells_00280932Clearing the land can be as simple as this. One of my favourites is called ‘Clearing – a Guide to Liberating Energies trapped in buildings and land’ by Jim Pathfinder Ewing.

Even if you don’t need to do a full land clearing or release a trapped spirit, this time of year is excellent for clutter clearing.

You could tune into the water table beneath the earth, or the nearest body of water to check that it’s flowing freely and feels happy. If there’s a need for anything , you will receive a message through auditory, visual, kinaesthetic means or even just a ‘knowing’.

I will be talking more about space clearing soon. In the meantime if you have any questions, please contact me on ali@lucidhealing.co.uk.

Happy water cleansing and sacred ritual bathing!.

Sacred Water

Sacred Water

water lily

All water is sacred!

Whether it’s sacred water in the form of springs, streams, the ocean, or the rainwater that falls gently on our lands, there are some indescribable things happening around the world threatening to poison our water and potentially our lives.

I was so inspired by this beautiful film below by wild swimmer Natasha Brooks and also by the fact that it was World Water Day on 22nd March. I thought I would gather some inspiration together. I hope that this post gives you some ideas about how we can work with water in a shamanic way.

Experience the world as living energy, an exercise.

This wonderful exercise is taken from Elizabeth Jenkins Book ‘The Fourth Level’.

Experience your energy bubble, it normally extends out an arm’s length all the way round you. Experience what is outside it and then bring your awareness back into yourself. Extend your awareness towards a body of water closest to you. This could be a vast ocean, river, lake, small stream, pond or spring. If there is no body of water near you, ‘see’ in your mind’s eye the groundwater that exists almost everywhere below our feet. Perceive this water body as living energy and the most refined essence of the water, it’s ‘sami’. Enjoy this perception of the spirit of water, what does it need? Listen and see if you can send it your love and highest energies.

The Q’ero do a lot of their energy work from an energy centre just below their belly button called the Qosqo Nawi. Literally translated, this means the belly eye, or red earth eye. You can also use your Siki Nawi (Tail eye) , which is connected to the element of water. This is located in the same place as your root chakra. Either of these centres would be good to send your highest energies from. Imagine a cord or ‘seqe’ of light that goes from one of these two energy centres to the body of water in your mind’s eye or to the waters under the ground.

The Q’ero use water as a cleanser of the aura in their ceremonies and believe it’s an essentially female living energy that can be connected to and communicated with.

Masaru Emoto

Water has been proven to hold an energetic imprint of any substance that it comes into contact with. The work of Masaru Emoto demonstrates that not only physical and environmental substances change water but so do our thoughts, intentions, prayers and music.

Pulluted river and clean stream

Here is a beautiful fire ceremony for the ocean with a Mayan elder in Guatamala, songs by Nalini.

Water in ‘Ayni’ or reciprocity

Sacredwatertribe.org have suggested saying that together we could hold the intention of love and gratitude while sharing Ho’oponopono prayer.

Ho’oponopono Prayer:
Water, I am sorry,
Water, Please forgive me,
Water, Thank you,
Water, I Love you.

Ho’oponopono is a powerful Hawaiian prayer for forgiveness and reconciliation. It is a powerful incantation to the water and allows one the opportunity to make right on any wrong actions, negative thoughts, or negative energy that we have created. This prayer is received by water and thus water will reflected back peace and harmony.

More ideas for a Water Ceremony coming soon!

Spring Equinox – A Shamanic Journey, From Chaos to Fertile Growth.

Spring Equinox – A Shamanic Journey, From Chaos to Fertile Growth.

Spring Equinox - plant your dreams.

Spring Equinox prompts us to plant our dreams

What is the meaning of the Spring Equinox?

Spring Equinox signifies the union of our masculine and the feminine sides. It also reflects the balance and the meeting point of the light and dark in our lives. From the point of the Spring Equinox, daylight is increasing and a new tide of life begins anew.

This is a time that can be seen as a way through chaos and into fertile possibilities, a new way of life. Traditionally we evoked the Goddess Oestre (the Goddess of Light , taken from the word Oestrogen). She can help us through the chaos before and after the equinox.

Why celebrate the Earth Calendar Festivals?

Its important for me to honour the Earth calendar dates that relate to our natural seasons in the UK. I also practice a shamanic tradition based in the High Andes of Peru, with the Q’ero nation.

I love organising small ceremonies and gatherings with friends to mark these special breathing points of the year. They mark a time when there’s a thinning of the veils between the worlds. This is where we can regain our balance, aligning with our dreams and intentions for the year.

At this time we can tune in more easily to what the earth, the elements and the natural world are  saying to us. While at this point of the earth’s evolution, I feel it’s important to slow down enough to connect with Mother Earth’s heart. When we sit quietly during meditation or ceremony, we can hear what she has to say.

Inspiring People for our own Gatherings and Ceremonies.

Glennie Kindred has helped me to shape my ideas around these eight earth calendar festivals. I also gained inspiration from the Druid path and a book called ‘Hedgewitch, a guide to Solitary Witchcraft’ by Rae Beth. Rae Beth talks of the two weeks before and after the Equinox as a time of transition , great stress and tension. She says that all the elements of life are being brought into balance, physically as day and night attain equal length.

Before we can step onto our new path , we need to let go of the old ways and let them break down!.

Decorate eggs to place on your Spring Equinox altar!

What can we do to honour the Spring Equinox?.

  • Meditation : We can ‘plant’ the sacred seeds we hold within us into the outer world. This can be done by symbolically planting herbs and flowers into compost and decorated pots.
  • We can decorate eggs, placing them in a willow basket on our altar. We can honour the time we have taken to incubate our ideas and plans for the coming year. State your intention as you hold your egg and pass it around your circle of friends to be blessed if you are holding a ceremony.
  • Take time to bless and honour the feminine and masculine side within you through journeying to those parts, sitting with them and evoking them through ceremony.
  • Get outside and feel the wind in your hair, blowing your prayers to the wind spirits for yourself, your family and friends, for the earth. Hang up a prayer flag or create your own flag for the garden.
  • Make something delicious with the spring greens around, like nettle soup, here is a delicious recipe by Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall.

Use the air element on a windy day to send your Spring Equinox wishes and prayers to the world.

Enjoy your Spring Equinox (Monday 20th March at 10.14am, with the sun moving into Aries) whatever you may be doing !.

Sacred Space or Scared Space?

Sacred Space or Scared Space?

flowers

The most sacred space for me is in nature.

As a student of The Four Winds Training, Alberto came and talked to us about 2012. I remember he said that we would need to be able to hold our own ‘sacred space’, in order to help others do the same.

What happens when we open sacred space?

When we open sacred space, we are creating an invisible protective energy dome. This shuts out the ‘business’ of our modern world and helps us to re-connect with our inner selves, allowing healing for ourselves and others to unfold. We can call on the help of the natural world through invoking the four cardinal directions. This invites their animal archetypes and the universe to provide a safe space for us to do our ceremonial work or meditate. Sacred Space also allows us access to the luminous medicine men and women, who help us from the unseen worlds with our healing or ceremonial work. Opening sacred space helps me to breathe.

What is a Wirracocha?

Meditation with caduceus and chakras

Meditation with our Wirracocha open in sacred space can help us come into balance.

Another way of opening sacred space is by bringing down the light of our eighth chakra (or Wirracocha) around us like a golden cloak. The eighth chakra is the energy centre full of divine love. I see it almost like a fishing net of golden thread around me that can be gently woven with my fingers if I see any holes. When closed, the wirracocha can be seen like like the light of a thousand suns above our heads. It is above our physical body but within our energy field and once activated, it expands the power of our sacred space many times. It helps us to feel very connected to spirit, as well as relaxing whoever we’re working with. It is often felt as a warm blanket of golden energy that helps to shift or melt any heaviness we or our clients may be feeling.

Opening Our Wirracocha.

Open this sacred space by imagining your eighth chakra like a beautiful radiant sun above your head. It’s like an orb the colour of gold. Bring your hands over your chest into prayer pose.  Slowly raise your hands, still in prayer pose, until they are above your head and in your eighth chakra.  Sense your fingertips entering your eighth chakra, just above your head .Very slowly, like a peacock opening its fan, turn your palms outwards and then extend your arms, bringing them  down to your sides. Imagine that you are bringing this cloak of golden light or a golden net all around you. Now bask in this net of light surrounding you.

This is a perfect antidote to the scared space a lot of us inhabit at work, or in the outside world. It is a way of coming into Ayni, or in balance/ reciprocity with the world. In the Q’ero tradition, we can create an inner sanctuary that helps us to breathe with any uncertainty, vulnerabilty or anxiety we may be feeling. The druid path also offers an inner sanctuary called the grove, which can be created in sacred space and I would also encourage you to create a safe place that you can go to in your mind’s eye. This safe place can have a virtual altar, your power animals or guides can also meet you there. In my next blog I will be giving other ideas as to how to work with your archetypes and guide you to creating your own safe space.
